PBIS

Clip to ScrapBook
We are in our second full year of PBIS and we are starting to lag behind a bit. Our chairperson is not really pushing us and her organization leaves a lot to be desired, but the kids love it and the teachers started to buy
into it. We are just struggling with our goals.

We have Golden tickets that are for the whole class when they (100%) exhibit a determined behavior (this month it is homework). Some think it's too high of a goal, but how can we expect less? Last year, when the classes met 80% of the monthly goals, they were able to participate in a school wide fiesta. Food, music and fun!!!
It was great!

WE have a drawing each trimester and prizes are awarded. We have started to wean the kids from "prizes" and we are now announcing their names on the intercom when they win the weekly drawings and posting pictures of the "winners". We are hoping to make the "prize" more intrinsic this year. (WE have a slide show playing during assemblies that shows pictures of the kids displaying the expectations around the school. )

I think it's a valuable tool and worth giving time to work.
