The layout of your classroom is important. Divide your classroom into calendar/large group area; book/reading area; manipulatives/fine motor; dramatic play area, art/painting, etc. Make certain you are able to see everything that goes on in your room. Mailbox magazine is a helpful tool for ideas to use in your classroom. Go to: www.themailbox.com. Utilize any classroom associates you may have, as efficiently as possible. I have found a tremendous amount of assistance on the internet. Go to education, then special education, etc. You will find ideas on lesson plans, as well as information re: various disabilities and how to effectively teach them. Hope these ideas help you. Try to be calm, and remember, you are there for the children. Have fun.
