Sara and Teacher...
By LindaR

Clip to ScrapBook
I am in Central CA.... A group of us will be visiting an IBO school in San Diego during our fall break, so we're anxious to see how others are doing it. We decided to not apply for PYP status this year, but our MYP has begun.
Everyone is so stressed...

Our biggest concern is the fact that our hands are tied to the Pacing Guides and District math and ELA testing every 3 wks. Our principal is committed to the IBO concept, but is being pressured to be test and data-driven. This seems so contrary to the philosophy of the IBO learning environment.

How do we move away from total DI instruction
to more inquiry-based lessons? Time is SO needed....

What are the challenges you face? What is your class size and do you have the different levels of learners in your classroom (or are they ability-grouped?) Are you able to collaborate in your planning?
