Some of you are saying what I was thinking...I would feel terrible telling a student they couldn't eat the snack they brought. It's not really their fault - their parents are the ones who buy the food. What I try to do is gently encourage those who do bring unhealthy stuff to make better choices, and praise the ones who have healthy foods. I would never take food away or tell a child they couldn't eat their snack, though. Isn't it amazing the types of situations we have to deal with as teachers? :rolleyes:
