I do this to intro them...

I use my cell phone or a play phone that looks realistic and I have it ring. I pretend to interupt my teaching to answer it. I am very dramatic (holding the phone to my chest) and I say in a loud whisper to the class.
"Do you know who this is?" and I pretend it is our principal, Tiger Woods, Lebron James or someone exciting.

I then say, "Do you know what he just said?" and they all say "What?" . So I run to the board and I write...He (name of person) said,"That he wants to know what we are learning!" etc... I write down all of the dialog.

I make it very exciting and dramamtic and I

write what we ask them over the phone and what the famous person "says" back. When we are done (of course I tell them it was just for fun ;)) and we talk about why I used those talking marks. They really love it and think it is so funny! It really works well!
