Clip to ScrapBook
First congratulations! I know you must be very excited about your new baby. You will be surprised at how suddenly all the things you have mentioned will not seem as important once the baby arrives. I hear teachers all the
time ( I was one of them) say the same things that you are saying and that say they plan to come to the school occassionally to check on things. Once the baby comes along they are too wrapped up in what's truly important that they don't show up till it's time to show off their new little one or time to come back. I will say that having been there twice it may be a challenge coming back
for many reasons including seeing that they get back to your expectations. In order to help ease some of your concerns is there any way that you could set up a meeting time with your potential sub to discuss with her the things that you are concerned about? You might also ask her to sit in and observe for a couple of days. If she is a retired teacher she may not, but you could offer. Also, if you are that concerned you might want to leave a skeleton plan for each of the weeks that you will be out. Personally, I say let her know what you would like for her to do and then let it go and enjoy the baby. If she follows it GREAT! If not oh well - Enjoy that baby.
