    I tie Thanksgiving to point of view, since we are working on voice at that time. I have the students write about Thanksgiving dinner from the point of view of the farmer and the turkey. I have the students work in goups to do the writing, and then I put them up in the hallway. you should clearly be able to tell the voice of the turkey without the students even saying that they are the turkey, and the same with the farmer. It is great for voice and really cute.
