I love having parents in my room to help. I use them for copies and all sorts of little things like that but honestly, I make use of them during center time and regular class time too. I teach first grade and when I do reading centers I let the volunteer(s) do sight word bingo, individual reading to build fluency, small group reading, helping with math projects ,science projects ,etc. I just make sure I let them know exactly what I need/want.
