Thumb sucking By Sam5

I sucked my thumb until I was in fifth grade. I don't think I did it in public but I am not really sure how well I kept it hidden. I grew up in an extremely stressful unhappy home. I think it was my coping skill. I grew up okay.

I teach fifth and still have students who I occasionally see sucking their thumb especially when the class is quiet and I am reading aloud.

I think the previous post gave you some good suggestions. Come up with a signal to remind them, quietly praise them when they so well.
