You have practically said everything that goes on iin my classroom. We are a Reading First School, and we implement Literacy Work Centers/Stations at our school. I don't know if you aware, but we use the STAR assessment program to assess the student's reading level. Also, we get our Center ideas from the basal - Harcourt Trophies, they offer an abundance of ideas for Centers, even cross curricular stations. Harcourt also has ideas in their earlier version called Harcourt Collections. There is also the website which offers a variety of reading skills, games, etc.
