Orton-Gillingham has been around for a very long time. I would think that you would have atleast been introduced to it in college. There is a program called Wilson Training that has become very popular. It is actually Orton,| but they "sell" you the materials. Our school district here in SC is just beginning to train teachers in this multi-sensory, phonics based method of reading. Wilson actually came here and gave workshops. Orton is also being ofered at a private school for kids with LD this summer for 3 graduate credits. They do have a web site for Wilson Reading System training. Boy, doesn't this emphasis | |
how we have to keep current in our education? I'm sure it is very frustrating, but if you showc some knowledge and willingness to learn, you shouldn't have a problem. Good Luck!
