challenging student's with disablities

In our school, our focus is to teach the student about the learning difference that the student has. In my case specifically, all 9 of my boys are well versed in the lingo of autism, Asperger's syndrome, High Functioning Autism and pervasive developmental disorder. We teach to the kid's level, but they know what they are talking about. We are sure to point out all the strengths of having a difference such as autism. We also teach the kids to use that strength to improve the weaker areas. It's late in the game for high school, but you may consider a learning differences elective or something like that....
