spelling tic tac toe is not really a game but assignments that students can do either at home or maybe in class. I don't have time in class
CURSIVE Ransom words. Cut out words (or the letters to make the words) from newspapers or magazines. Secret Codes, where each letter has a corresponding number ex: A=1,B=2, C=3, etc. Beside each word, write the spelling words as a code (cat = 3, 1, 20). CURSIVE Spelling Acrostics - For each letter in the words, student writes a related word dealing with this letter. CURSIVE Go to Puzzlemaker.com and create a word search or cross word with your list, then SOLVE the puzzle. Write the part of speech beside each word on your list. CURSIVE Print your words adding one letter at a time. The result will be a pyramid shape of words. C Ca cat Choo-Choo Words: Write each word end-to-end as one long word. Use different colors for each word. CURSIVE This is supposed to be in a 3x3 grid box. I had problems attaching the file so I copied and pasted it- the boxes don't show. But imagine that every activity is in its on box. Here is my version of this; I also could not attach it but hopefully this helps. NAME: _______________________ TEACHER: __________________ WEEKLY SPELLING HOMEWORK Choose any 5 activities to be turned in on Wednesdays. Each activity should be on a separate page of your homework notebook with the school heading and the name of activity chosen (see example below). You must use all spelling words correctly that I assign for the week in the spelling activities you choose. Example: PS 214 Name Class 302 Date “ABC Words” Clock Rocket Horseback Horseback Rocket Clock SPELLING ACTIVITY MENU: ACTIVITY HERE’S WHAT TO DO EXAMPLE ABC Words Write your words in ABC order. Then, write them in backwards ABC order. Look at example above Big and Little Write each spelling word in lowercase letters, then in capital letters, then again in lowercase letters 1.rocket ROCKET rocket 2.clock CLOCK clock 3.black BLACK black Big Letters Write each spelling word many times to make the shape of the first letter of the word Big Vowel Write each word 2 times making the vowels capital letters and the consonants lowercase letters. Vowels: a,e,i,o,u 1.clOck clOck 2. rOckEt rOckEt By The Color Write each spelling word 3 times making the consonants blue and the vowels red Vowels: a,e,i,o,u Colorful Spelling Use the color code to write each spelling 2 times. a,b,c,d,e = blue f,g,h,i,j = red k,l,m,n,o = green p,q,r,s,t = orange u,v,w,x,y,z = purple Right-hand then Left-hand Write spelling words 2 times with your right hand and then write it 2 times with your left hand. Letter Sort Sort each word into categories based on the number of letters in each word. 4 letters 5 letters 7letters make snake acrobat ride bride Letter Squares Write each spelling word four times making a square. Pencil, Pen, Crayon Write each spelling word first in pencil, then in pen, and last in crayon. Ransom Words Cut out letters from magazines or newspapers and, using glue stick, glue onto paper of HW notebook to create each word. S k a t e A c r o b a t S n a k e Spelling Sentences Write a sentence for each spelling word. Make sure to include a capital letter and end mark! Underline the spelling word and skip a line between each sentence. 1. The rocket was loud when it zoomed through the sky. 2. Who are you? Stair-Step Words Write each word 3 times making a stair step. Tri-color Words Write each spelling words in 3 different colors Word triangles Write each spelling word in a triangle.
