home visit
By Jessie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hello! While I am a special education teacher, I do not make home visits very often, and its usually never to work with a child. But I told my collegues about your question. Our speech teacher says she always does home visits at home. The time is determined in the IEP...such visits for her last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. She often goes alone. I have always had someone attend with me on a home visit. In our area, you have to do it for many reasons, the most important being that you have a witness to back up what went on. (We have a lot of parents who are very hostile to our school and its teachers). I hope this helped a little. I am glad you are not having any problems with your home visits
