I agree with Jessica in terms of her definition of co-teaching. It is the same on the middle school level in Connecticut. However, team teaching in our district means that you are a member of a teaching team, but not necessarily teaching together in the same classroom. The special ed. teacher's position on a team, if not in a co-teaching situation, is to collaborate with teachers, help with modifications to curriculum and assessments, and to provide support to the students who need it through pull-out to the resource room.
