Coteach/teamteach

I am not sure if it's this way everywhere, but where I teach in South Dakota, they use the term CO-TEACHING when two teachers share one classroom and work equally next to each other. Last year, two teachers taught in one 3rd grade room. One teacher took a few subjects, another teacher took some more. They also shared subjects, and taught them together. TEAM TEACHING here is when, say I, the special education teacher would get together with the regular education classroom teacher, we'd write a lesson together and teach it together. Not an everyday thing. I hope this helps some. I am interested in hearing how it is with other schools...
