They can do an all about me newspaper poster- there were some on sale through scholastic that are good. You could have them write letters to an author and model it by reading Dear Mr Henshaw. I would go to unitedstreaming and click on writing and wow the resources are amazing. They give you a picture and an expository prompt and a narrative prompt, and a persuasive prompt. I loved it. Then go visit writingfix.com and see all the creative fantastic ideas published there. I love it.
