I had both my sons in second grade. They went to school where I taught and there was only 1 section of each grade. I loved it! They boys loved it, too. I was afraid of how I would react to them in class but the other teachers in my school who also had their own children gave me some hints about how to handle them. One was to treat them as I would the rest of the class. They did call me Mom, but the other kids knew they were my kids and didn't mind, and kids being kids, called me mom also! My DH was the one I conferenced with and he was the one who came in for special things or projects or programs. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I didn't have my daughter in my class because I started a couple of years after she was in second. but I always wished I had...
