Re: First Week Writing Activities

On the very first day I read First Day Jitters, then I have decorative paper and the kids write down some things that they are nervous or exciteded about. I do not read them (so they are honest) then we fold them up, staple them and put them all in a manilla envelope. We open them again on the last day of school. You wouldnt beleive how much their writing improves! They cant beleive it either (especially when they cant read their own writing!) Its a very fun first and last day activity.
