Clip to ScrapBook
Quite a few years ago, we were encouraged to use this program. I was a new teacher when I went to the training. I came back and had to intro. the program to the two veterans I was teaching with. They were very sure that
this program didn't do enough with enough words for students at the intermediate level. I soon found out they were right.
I like the way the program focuses on the most frequently-written words. That makes sense. But to do a word a day and only 6 words or so a week doesn't work, especially when some of the 4th grade words are words like "car" or "play". We needed a program that
exposed kids to spelling patterns and a greater quantity of words. We've kind of made our own. I do incorporate 5 high frequency words with those words though, because I do see the wisdom of spending time on the words used most often.
