I think it's great

Clip to ScrapBook
Our librarian always asked us to let her know what we were doing and she would try to incorporate it into her time with kids. She was very good about helping them choose genre that coordinated with what we were learning.
They would often say, "hey we are discussing that in class, how did you know that". We would both laugh, privately of course, at their innocence of not realizing we were working together.

I would love it if music was corresponded with what I taught. I will be teaching South America and Europe. How cool would it be for them to really learn about music from the countries we will
study. They would get so much more of a cultural experience about it.

Now as far as teachers cluing you in to what they are doing I do know it might be looked upon as "just one more thing to do", but even if it was a rough sketch a month at a time. If it was covered right before or after regular classroom learning I think it would still be beneficial to the kids
