for your new teachers
By Margaret916

Clip to ScrapBook
Depending on your budget -- treat them to a little starbucks or restaurant card. Being a new teacher is so hard because your budget is so tight -- knowing someone thought of you like that (plus you can have something to
eat or treat yourself) makes a huge difference!

For the rest of the staff -- please try to do the same kind of treatment for each person. If you do flowers or a card or a basket for someone sick/surgery/etc do the same for everyone. It is tough to feel like you aren't cared for as much -- petty, maybe. But hurt feelings stay with people for a long time.

Happy hours
and sports activities went over really well with our staff -- surprising to me because we are an older staff with a few young teachers. Most of our teachers are married with older kids, but loved the chance to get out to a happy hour or volleyball vs. another school!
