Clip to ScrapBook
When I first started teaching, we weren't allowed to buy pre-made posters/pictures. My mentor teacher helped me make lots of pictures by using transparencies and the overhead. I would find pictures of characters, animals,
etc. from children's coloring books and tear them out. I made transparencies of the pictures and placed them on the overhead. Then I taped posterboard on the chalkboard, and traced the pictures onto the posterboard. After that I colored them with markers and outlined them in black. After they were laminated, I wrote captions on sentence strips or cut out letters to go with them and hung
them on my walls. It really added life to the classroom, and I didn't spend a lot of money! I still use a combination of "homemade" and store bought pictures/posters. I actually think the "homemade" ones are the cutest!
