Clip to ScrapBook
I try to make it pretty hands-on for the kids. First, we just learn the steps of the process. WE read about each step with its definitiion/explanation. Then I have the definitions on sentence strips on the boards and i
call on students to match it with the title (materials, procedure, etc). Sometimes I'll do it again backwards by giving the title and calling on students to come up and match the definitions. I also give each group a set of index cards with the steps on them and a set of cards with the definitions. First they need to match each step to its definition. After we go over them, i ask the
groups to make sure the steps are in order. I do a scramble on the board too. They do a practice worksheet (individually or in partners) where they match the step to the definition and then put all the steps in order. Their assessment is the same worksheet with the questions in a different order. I'd attach them here buy my internet is giving me a hard time - i'll be lucky if i get online to send this let alone attach anything.

Then I do an 'investigation' with how many twizzlers does it take to go across the floor to show how the steps work (except it doesn't work for variables).
