Everyone does!
By Jessie

Clip to ScrapBook
Personally, I think that almost everyone does benefit from it. I have seen the regular education students become more understanding, empathetic, and willing to help others. I have seen my sped kids start to behave better
because of the example of the other students, flourish under positive attention from their peers, and start to feel better about themselves. I recently went into a classroom where one of my sped kids is mainstreamed for 30 minutes a day. I asked them all what they thought about having this student in their class...and that they could answer honestly on one conditition...if they had a gripe...they
had to offer what would make it better...and it couldn't be this sped student never being in their class. Every last student had wonderful things to say!!! I got comments like, "He's a lot of fun!", "I like spending time with him", "I've learned a lot from getting to know him!". While this isn't always the case...it does go to show that EVERYONE can benifit from inclusion!
