To make grass for a bulletin board, I used the longer sized construction paper. We folded the green paper in half lengthwise. Then we cut it from the open end towards the fold maybe 3 inches or so. You can cut it different lengths to add more height in some areas. Once we made the "grass blades" that way, we opened it and cut along the fold. We then had 2 sections of the grass. We used scissors to curl it slightly so when stapled up, it looked like it was moving. Then we just repeated the steps until we had as much grass as we wanted on it. It worked great for adding a little more to the scene. We used it for several bulletin boards.

At Easter, we had the children color egg shaped cutouts and write words for that week on them. Then they decorated them and hid in the grass. During baseball season, we used it for part of bulletin board with a ball park scene.
