    I think you should rotate buddies each day, so that all students get to do this special thing and form unique friendships. A wonderful hands on experience. If a student doesn't want to go that will be ok also.

    have mom give you some things that he can have as a treat when other students bring treats that he can't have.

    Food that will work for you are Pretzels (serve different shapes to mix it up and add variety) Jell-o sugar free kind, Gold fish crackers, celery sticks, with the Kool-aid you will find sugar free Rasberry Ice, and Lemon-aid that is sugar free.

    Splenda is good tasting like sugar, but is sugar free.

    No carrots.

    Be sure and get this free short picture book for your classroom library. It will be great for you to read to the class.
