Team Leaders

Yes, we have team leaders in my district. I was the team leader for first grade until the year before last. That's when I got the blame for something someone else didn't do in their classroom that they should have. (I even
told her what I was going to do.) After that I told administration they could find someone else to do it. I didn't feel it was my job to supervise and there were ten teachers on the team. I was the liason for the first grade teachers but there was also a lot of extra work and responsibility involved without extra pay. Our Board refuses to give team leaders a stipend, but that really wasn't

the issue for me. My team members were not very helpful when it came to carrying some of the extra work load. I think having team leaders takes some of the work load off the principals. (especially in a fast-growing district like mine)
