Great topic! Thanks for bringing it up. I have always had the same trouble. I have even resorted to showing videos once a month so that the aides and I could sit in the back of the room and quietly do some planning or
training. However, I've never found anything that was really successful. I am always frustrated that written plans are not followed and neither are model lessons that I explain as I go along.

This is one of my biggest concerns with the new accountability standards. There is no way that I can meet all of the IEP objectives by myself. That leaves me being responsible for "teaching"

done by my aides. One of them tries very hard and really does a pretty good job. The other plays a lot and really doesn't think that the kids are capable of doing anything. I am really nervous about getting to the end of the year and not having everything done. Am I just being overly concerned? Does anyone else face this?

I am looking forward to hearing some great ideas from other teachers!
