Parents welcomed

In the past I've welcomed parents at drop off in the morning. I've had to ask some to let their child do things for him/her self. Overall it's helped me get to know parents as a group before conference time. It's a great chance for children to show parents work in the classroom. Since other parents are around most understand they can't conference and I make myself busy greeting the children. It also gives parents a chance to chat with each other. This year I have a much smaller classroom and I'm considering asking parents to hold their conversations in the hallway.
