I play games
By Judy24

Clip to ScrapBook
Some are educational and some aren't.

I play one called silent ball and it's great for when I need quiet. (Completely noneducational though) The class stands in a circle and they throw a stuffed soccer ball, any
soft object would work, to each other. You are out of the circle if you don't catch the ball, are caught saying ANYTHING, or if you throw a crazy throw. The kids love and so do I because it's silent.

Math flashcards- Everyone stands in a line and show the first student a math card. If he/she gets it right they keep the card, if he/she gets it wrong I put it back in the pile.
As kids leave they give me back their cards and write on the board how many they had. I don't really give prizes so it's just for fun.

Spelling Sparkle- Kids stand in a line next to each other. I say a word and the first kid says the first letter and then the next kids says the next letter and so on. When the word is spelled the next kid says sparkle and the next kid sits down. If we mess up then the kid who messed up sits down and we start that word over.

We play boggle on the overhead, and I have a Who wants to be a millionaire game on my laptop. The kids write their answers down.

My kids love to play any game so even though I kind of feel bad about games that get students out, they enjoy them so much that I keep playing them.
