Green Group is doing seat work Red group are at centers: Ann at Listening, Bob at Math, Cody is at Computer, Dave at Spelling TUESDAY The groups rotate at the same time, but when it comes time for their centers, they go to a different one. For instance, in red group. On Tuesday, Ann-Math, Bob-Computer, Cody-Spelling, Dave-Writing On Wednesday Ann-Computer, Bob-Spelling, Cody-Writing, Dave-Listening IS THIS MAKING SENSE AT ALL? Let me know if I need to explain better. This always has worked for me because each student goes to every center once a week, and there is NEVER more than one student at a center at one time (as long as you have at least 5 centers and no more than 5 kids in each group). The easiest way I have found to keep track of this is with a pocket chart. I have pictures of each of my centers going down the left side. Next to each picture, I have the kids name written. By each picture, I have no more than one student from each group. Before center time every day, I just move each picture down one row, and put the picture that was on the bottom, on the top. It is much easier than moving kids names every day.
