Going Peanut-free
By luvnjesus

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a child who is fatally allergic to peanuts this year. Thankfully I had the older sibling a couple of years ago and, therefore, have a relationship with the (awesome) family. He does have an epi pen though.
Here are a couple of things we have done so far:
-His mom has already sent me a "safe foods" list that I have posted on my website for any parent who is planning any type of treat or birthday.
-I am going to talk with all parents at Open House (ours is before school starts) and Mom is sending a supply of safe snacks just in case. We have a small school and many of his classmates
have been with him for PK, K, and 1 so I am hoping that will help.
-Our admin. will step in if anyone doesn't respect the peanut-free rule but I can't imagine that would be necessary.

I guess we will be EXTRA careful this year.
:s)
