I live in Killeen right outside of Fort Hood and every year they hire an average of 400 new teachers, due to the turnover for the military. The beginning salary is 40,000 plus a 1500 sign on bonus. We are centrally located 1 hour from Waco, 1 hour from Austin. Been here 15 years and loving it.
