first day goodies

Clip to ScrapBook
I agree that you should not feel obligated to provide these. I have given a goody bag the past several years because the kids seems to enjoy it and it helps keep them occupied while I deal with all those first day things that seem to pop up at the last minute.
I use a book as an end of the year gift, and I get them with my Scholastic bonus points.
Third graders are such a great age, they will love just about anything you do. If you gave them a pencil and a snack they would probably be thrilled. I have given them store bought rice krispy treats which almost everyone likes, and can eat. Another possibility would be to give them a bookmark, which you could purchase in larger quantities or create on your computer. Best Wishes to you.:s)
