However not let it consume your break. I usually spend a couple of weeks of intense planning to look for new materials, rethink/replan what didn't work last year.

Our district also has this infernal need to "fix" our scope and sequence and seems to make changes every summer. They are good about sending the final copy via email when it's finished, so I revamparound that.

I tend to teach summer school for tthe first few weeks, take a few weeks off, then get back to work.
