I Love It...

because just as you start to get tired (or stressed) you can count on that break! That's the biggest plus for me! Now, your schedule would give you much longer 'on track' time, but you'd also get a longer break than I do.

Some say that with year round, you don't ever 'really rest' because just as you start to get comfy with the time off, it's time to start thinking of the next teaching period. I'd have to agree with that. I spent most of this break looking for 'new and improved' ideas for starting the new school year AND (in case you didn't read my post about having too much junk) trying to figure
out how to de-clutter all my stuff.

Another feature we like is that we have 'inter-sessions' throughout the year for those who need extra help (as opposed to waiting until the end of the school year for summer school.)

Some teachers who want the extra pay also work as substitutes during their 'off track' time, so it's nice on both ends when a teacher can get someone who works at his/her school to sub.

After almost 30 years of year round school, our district leadership is putting out feelers to see how we would like to go back to traditional schedule. I can't even stand the thought! If I'm stressed after just 9 weeks of teaching, I hate to think of how I'd feel teaching from August to December!
