timed math tests

I found that my students were coming into grade three without basic addition and subtraction facts so I've been giving a timed test each morning. It only takes a few minutes. I give the same test each day for a week, allowing them to take the tests home to practice. If they get it all right, they don't have to write the test the next day. I will do the same when it comes to teaching multiplication.
