pencil sharpening

I agree . . . I hate being interrupted by the pencil sharpener (we have an electric one). I've solved the problem in 2 ways -- I have a small hand sharpener next to the electric one and they are to use it if sharpening will interrupt something someone is saying in class. I also have a container of those little golf pencils that they can take to use temporarily. Most don't like them cause they don't have erasers but they do the job in a pinch!
