I use them during shared reading, read aloud

The students can find a spot to draw what they visualize or to fill out a q chart. Then they can meet with a partner or the group and share their responses. Like said above, it's a portable desk! I am moving to the library this year, and made sure to bring my clipboards with me.
You can find them at the dollar store!
Also can be used during guided reading...somewhere to put their sticky notes with questions or responses too.
Can also be used with writing exercises. Great whole and small group tool.
