A simple way

Clip to ScrapBook
Snack time can be really simple for you. You can either set aside a time of about 10 minutes when kids would snack quietly without an assignment to focus on. This can be after a bathroom break, after recess,... Or you can do as I do and schedule snacktime during a lesson. It can be during centers or guided reading or calendar math. I make snacks strictly optional. Kids who want to can bring in a healthy snack to have during our designated time but we don't completely stop the day or lesson. At snack time, they quickly get their snacks from bookbags, come back to seats (or groups or centers) and we move on. By the end of that lesson, they put everything in the trash (or bookbag if unfinished) and we move on with the day.
