Clip to ScrapBook
I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade and implemented the Morning Meeting with each grade level. I would not teach with out!!! I even had meetings in my summer school class with 6 students. The kids love the meetings too!

Here are some things that I have done:
Weekly Meeting Schedule --
Mon. - Share 1 (only ONE) thing about your weekend (this meeting may last a little longer to allow for everyone to share
Tues. - Pair/Share (ex: Partner students and give topic for one to talk & one to listen, then switch roles and slightly vary the topic. This might often be a teach/review session, where
students discussed something we are learning about.)
Wed. - Conflict Resolution (may be whole class or small groups; ex: role play a problem that might occur in the cafeteria w/ your group, then role play how you would solve the problem; each group "permforms" for the whole class so that you can discuss positive resolutions)
Thurs. - Free choice (depending on what was going on in our room at the time) This was often our day to reflect on our goals for the week or assess how we were doing in comparison to our social contract.
Fri. - Team Building/Class Game (ex: name ball toss)

Please note: Sometimes your schedule may not allow you to have a meeting everyday. It is okay to not have one if it's going to hinder the rest of your day/week. So, if you have a school-wide assembly first thing in the morning, you might want to skip the meeting for that day. Also, there were some years that I only had meetings 3 times a week due to pull-outs or rotation schedule.
