Clip to ScrapBook
I do Fun Fridays too but I guess in an opposite way. Instead of tally marks deducting minutes, I make them earn tally points throughout the week to earn Fun Friday. Our rule is that they must earn 15 "recess points" (tally
marks) by Friday in order to have Fun Friday.

They earn recess points by doing the right things, making good choices, receiving compliments. We make a list the first few days of school - "Ways to Get Recess Points" which I keep up most of the year to remind them.

Just as they can earn points, they can have points taken away as well.

This system has worked
for the 18 years I've been teaching. I borrowed the idea from a subsitute that subbed in my cooperating teacher's class for a week while she was out having surgery when I student taught.

Just thought it was ironic that it seemed almost opposite of what I do.

LOL,
Shark:rolleyes:
