Nice things to have
By GB

Clip to ScrapBook
General posters, depending on what grade you teach. They are $2 apiece around here. Ideas like a 100s chart (because you can laminate it and use it across grade levels to demonstrate number patterns), a motivational reading
poster, etc.

(Use a vis-a-vis marker on laminate, it wipes off with a wet rag.)

I have printshop and it's easy to make graphic organizer pages without buying books for graphic organizers. You can use these across grade levels. I've even made templates out of cardstock (rectangle and oval shapes) and made my own pages to copy for story elements, character descriptions,
venn diagrams and all kinds of language arts development.

You can make a lot of things out of posterboard, permanent markers, and stick glue. File folder games: Make generic games from those circle dots, a marker and cute clip art. Make theme games. Have them ready for laminating to last.

Any camera to start out with would be good. Take a picture of your b-boards when put together, and store them with the picture. You know exactly what your b-boards are, and you know how you set them up before.

Simple, but paper clips and clear "thread." You attach long clear thread to the paper clips and attach the paper clips to the metal bars. You can hang all kinds of things up there-student made.

Look for a great idea on student mailboxes. Preferably something big enough that each student has one, and the papers lay flat. But, one year there was no $$ and I made them out of Capri-Sun boxes. Yep. I cut off one end and glued enough together for each student and covered the outside with paper from the art room. It worked when there was nothing else.

Don't worry too much. There might be some things left for you when you teach.
