* Find a special job he could do and then use that as a bargaining tool. Start small so he gets to do the job a lot, then when you have to take it away it will make more of an impact. * Talk to your principal. Come up with a system, like three strikes and your out, and have your principal back you up. That way if the kids shows up in the office with some work, they know what he is there for and what he needs to do to come back to class. * If you haven't already read 1-2-3 Magic, do. It is a great resource for behavior management. And you can use it for whole class. My little trouble really did well with it. He tested it at first and made it to three and had to face the consequences, and then he hardly had to move his clip at all after that. Good luck!
