In need of advice
By NCteacher

Clip to ScrapBook
During the workdays at the end of the school year, the 2nd and 3rd grade teachers (I teach 3rd) got together to create the class rolls for the next school year. We started out by divying up the discipline problems. We got
to one little boy and all the third grade teachers said, "NO WAY!"....this kid spent at least 1/2 of his 2nd grade year in the hallway. Dancing. Twirling. Screaming. He is probably one of the most challenging kids I have ever seen. Has a major diagnosis by an M.D. for ADHD- BIG TIME! Due to religious reasons, his parents will not allow him to take medication. He is exactly like the Tasmanian
devil. Well, guess who said, "Just give him to me"??? That's right- yours truly. Not because I felt that I had special powers to help him- I was tired of arguing over who would get him.

My question is- does anyone have any tried and true methods to help me keep this kid from disrupting class and to help him keep him on task? He truly is like a tornado- he wasn't allowed to have a desk last year because he wiggled so much that he was constantly knocking it over. Help!
