say something. I haven't read anyone elses replies. I myself skipped kindergarten and then I skipped 3rd grade. As a parent I would NEVER NEVER let my child skip a grade no matter how smart he of she is. In fact it was reccomended
to have my daugter skip kindergarten (she was reading the first Harry Potter book and getting it when she was in kindergarten.)

Here are my reasons that I would never do it to my child.
1) I was labeled as a genius child- what an impossible expectation to live up to! I felt like I was a total failure whenever I couldn't master anything easily, or god forbid needed

help with anything.
2) I didn't do too bad socially- no real horror stories, but I never felt like I fit in which is understandable as I was so much younger than my classmates.
3) I graduated at 15. Yes I was smart, yes I completed everything I needed to to graduate. But I was not ready to graduate! I was not mature enough to be on my own (my parents didn't think so either, but I was "smart" enough to get myself emancipated.) It took me YEARS to finish college and I really made a lot of bad choices.

My daughter is much the same as I was- although she tends to be a little more mature and responsible than I was at her age, but I would not let her skip a grade. I have found that she has aways had wonderful teachers that do challenge her and push her do make improvements. Even in kindergarten she was never bored, her teacher made sure that she was always challenged.
