You seem much calmer than I would be if I were you. I'd say after 36 years, you've "paid your dues." It seems like the great people are always asked to sacrifice or take on challenges because they've shown they are up to the demands that come with them. It's not right that this happens, but it seems to be pretty common. It sounds like you're coming around to a positive attitude about the whole thing, which is great. You've got the knowhow and experience to take this challenge and turn it into something great, and I bet you will! Best of luck to you!
