Mailboxes

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach 2nd grade. My students take home their mail everyday. They have special folder that we call their "Take Home Folder." On the inside, the left side is labeled "Return to School" and the right side is labeled "Keep at Home." Anything that needs to come back to school, I make sure to let the students aware of at some point during the day (homework, parent notes, etc.). I don't separate corrected papers and homework. Some kids do sort their mail at school, some do it at home. I show them how to sort at the beginning of the year, but I don't require it. Either way, I haven't had much problem with homework and notes getting returned.
