Im not going to go into the whole topic here but basically I have seen it fail so many times. I have seen many children suffer because their needs were not being met in a gen ed classroom. I believe parents (and others) push children who need more than just socialization skills into a gen ed classroom which in the long run hurts their child and the other children in the room.
